Driving a car fast isn't about the straights, it's about the bends - how you prepare, enter and ultimately exit to get the power on down the straight. Positioning the car, managing the power and balance are key to success. Too often in life we enter a challenge or change in the wrong position, too fast, are in danger of drifting off the black stuff and end up on the grass at best and the gravel trap at worst. Sometimes we believe the bend/directional change will solve our cars/organisations performance problems, whereas in reality it finds them out and exaggerates them!
We think the analogy is very strong. Many of our team have experience of karting or motor racing.
The Motorsport Circuit Guide uses the following bend classification:-
A - Epic bend a real challenge
B - Very difficult, hard to execute at its potential speed
C - Tricky, hard to get the racing line right
D - Moderately difficult, makes you think
E - Straightforward, quite fast with some technique necessary
F - Very easy, very wide, can be taken flat out
